Sometimes it seems we put stress on the wrong strengths we should admire in others. For example, ambition, aggression and vanity seem to be rampant in the world today and also something flaunted as a desirable quality on television everyday. Here are five of the most under rated qualities that can build a person of strong character:
1. Generosity: Generosity is giving of your self freely to help others without expecting anything in return. You can be generous by giving when you have very little to share. You can be generous by spending your free time helping others volunteering at a hospital or at a soup kitchen. You can be generous in spirit sharing God’s love wherever you go. Developing a habit of being generous is a wonderful way to live and should be admired in those who do so without thinking.
2. Humility: Humility is not a lack of confidence. Instead, no matter what you do and how much you accomplish being humble keeps you grounded as well as helps you maintain reverence for God. It also helps keep you feeling charitable to others and does not put your self ahead or above anyone else.
3. Kindness: Many people mistake kindness for weakness. Kindness is perhaps one of the most admirable of all qualities as kindness encompasses all of the same qualities as Jesus. Kindness allows you to forgive, to be generous, to help those in need and to offer love and understanding to everyone you encounter.
4. Integrity: Integrity allows you to live with honesty and morality. Integrity gives you the highest of moral principles and your stick to them steadfastly in everything you do.
5. Honesty: Honesty allows you to be trusted in all you do. Honesty allows you to always be fair, upfront and candid so others are never in doubt that they can trust you to tell the truth, be discreet about information and of course never steal.
